VCOL (Virginia’s Community of Learning):
Virginia’s Community of Learning is a multi-year Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE) project, conducted in partnership with the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Educational Technology Alliance (VETA). The collection of online resources focus on classroom content areas, technologies, online resources, and professional development information, bringing the best of them together in one location for access by Virginia's online educators. Recently (3/2003), the collection was reviewed and indexed one resource at a time to enable searching. Search capabilities based on Keywords, Intended Audience (Grade Level), Predefined Categories, and Virginia Standards of Learning Categories are the net result of this tremendous effort.
The Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE) was founded in 1986 as the Virginia Educational Computing Association and is Virginia's affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Serving the entire community of technology-using educators, membership is comprised of pre-service education students, teachers, principals, specialists, superintendents, university faculty, parents, businesses, and others who are interested in promoting technology's role in education. From pre-service to in-service and continuing through post-service, Society membership is open to the contributions and involvement of educators and those supporting educational technology.

The Virginia Educational Technology Alliance (VETA) is a statewide alliance of the 14 public higher education institutions that maintain teacher education programs in Virginia.
